Christmas with the Trio
Christmas with the Trio
Tuesday December 6 2016 - 19:30
Duration : 1h 30

Come experience the magic of a musical Christmas! The Trio will bring a breath of fresh air to the holiday season with a new programme of works specially transcribed for this concert. Religious melodies, traditional songs and the romance of times past will find new colours, sung by the “voices” of strings and piano. In the hands of these master musicians, the music will shine like glittering balls of light gathered around Liszt’s Christmas Tree, in a trio version never heard before. Each in their own way, the pieces on the programme will explore the Christmas spirit through joy and nostalgia. Ultimately, we’ll have the chance to enjoy a concert which reflects all the wonderment of the holiday season, enriched by interpretations which truly elevate the music to a spiritual sphere.

Despite numerous wars fought between Rome and the Parthians and between Rome and the Sassanids, the Roman and Iranian worlds have had numerous peaceful relations, in nature has material and cultural. The conference will analyze the Iran references which have been found in the ancient Latin sources, and references to the western world have been found in pre-Islamic to Iranian sources. Will try to explain how it is possible to recognize, in such sources, the traces of the ambivalent attitude that the two civilizations assumed mutually.
