DID YOU KNOW…
The MMFA is not a state-run museum. It must finance 99% of its acquisitions.
However, thanks to the generous gifts of works of art and money from the Museum’s supporters, the MMFA can pursue its mission to preserve, conserve and share some 41,000 works of art in the only encyclopedic collection in Quebec and one of the largest in Canada.

HOW TO OFFER A GIFT OF ARTWORK TO THE MUSEUM
For the MMFA to consider your offer of a gift of artwork, it is necessary to present your offer in writing with photographs of the work and supporting documentation, as well as two appraisals by recognized experts.
A tax receipt stating the fair market value of the work, in some cases established by the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board, will be issued to the contributor whose work has been accepted as a gift by the MMFA.
