In the Galleries

Your children will get up close and personal with art in the Museum’s galleries. They will discover works from different eras and styles from around the world including the exhibition Metamorphoses: In Rodin’s Studio.

In the Studios

With the guidance of their educator, children will create two- and three-dimensional projects in a variety of mediums and techniques. In this relaxed, creative environment, children are invited to give free rein to their imaginations. On Friday afternoon, the week winds up with a presentation of the children’s creations in an exhibition that they will mount themselves. Unforgettable memories!

Each group of 25 children is led by three educators.

  • All art material is provided.
  • Free daycare from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 4 to 5.30 p.m.
  • Please note that there will be no daycare on Friday because of the campers’ exhibition opening.
  • Our daily schedule allows time for play and snacks.
  • A daily trip to a local park is planned, weather permitting.
  • Children must bring their lunches and snacks (nothing that needs to be heated).
  • Day camp is bilingual, so children can speak English or French with their educator.
  • Our educators are experienced professionals.
  • The Museum offers a secure, warm and caring environment for your children.
  • Please note: The Museum’s Day Camp is a one-week programme that is repeated from week to week.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If a Day Camp reservation is cancelled seven or more days before the activity begins, the fees will be refunded in full, except for a $50 administration fee. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made fewer than seven days before the activity begins, unless the cancellation is made for medical reasons, in which case a doctor’s note is required and fees will be refunded in full.

Teens 12 to 16

In the Galleries

Teens are invited to discover works in the Museum’s encyclopedic collection, as well as in the exhibition Metamorphoses: In Rodin’s Studio and then exchange their points of view. An opportunity to explore the sensitive side of art.

In the Studios

Teens will be invited to experiment with a variety of techniques and mediums to create two and three-dimensional works of art. Special attention will be given to subjects that correspond to this age group’s interests with projects that are both fun and meaningful. On Friday afternoon, the week winds up with a presentation of the teens’ creations in an exhibition that they will mount themselves. Unforgettable memories and new friends!

Each group of 25 teens will be led by three educators. The teens will occupy different areas from the younger children.

  • All art material is provided.
  • Free daycare from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 4 to 5.30 p.m.
  • With written permission, teens may leave the Museum on their own at 4 p.m.
  • Please note that there will be no daycare on Friday because of the campers’ exhibition opening.
  • Our daily schedule allows time for relaxation and snacks.
  • Participants must bring their lunches and snacks (nothing that needs to be heated).

Programme for children and teens from low-income families.

The Merlin Fund and the Lethbridge Fund provide underprivileged children with a chance to develop their artistic talents. Representatives of community groups are encouraged to submit the names of a child aged six to twelve years old, inclusive, who could benefit from free tuition to the Museum’s Day Camp.

Counsellor-in-training programme

Teens are invited to take part in a unique Museum programme that could increase their chances of becoming summer camp counsellors! Community organizations are invited to submit the candidacy of a teenager for the training programme at the Museum’s Day Camp.

Candidates must:

  • Be aged 16 or 17
  • Like children
  • Show an interest in art
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities and a sense of responsibility
  • Be available for one week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • During this week, the Museum will cover transportation costs for counsellors in training and provide a boxed lunch each day.
