IT'S FREE!

For Nathalie Bondil, Director and Chief Curator of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the whole MMFA team, it is important to provide free access to the largest possible number of activities and exhibitions in all the Museum's pavilions.

FREE ADMISSION TO THE COLLECTIONS

Admission to all the Museum's collections is always free of charge for everyone at all times.

• Quebec and Canadian Art
• International Art from the Old Masters to Contemporary Art
• Graphic Arts and Photography
• Archaeology and World Cultures
• Decorative Arts and Design

CONTEMPORARY ART

A number of contemporary art exhibitions may also be visited free of charge at all times. The Museum has an ongoing commitment to actively promote contemporary art in order to help support a fragile but vital milieu: artists, galleries, collectors and art lovers, students and tourists, from Canada and abroad. Free admission is the way to achieve this goal.

FREE AUDIOGUIDES TO THE COLLECTIONS

Visitors can add to the pleasure of discovering the Museum's collection of international art, from the Old Masters to modern art, with an audioguide featuring music and commentary, which, for the first time at the Museum, may be downloaded to smart phones and tablet PCs. This musical stroll (also available with the traditional audioguide equipment provided free of charge by the Museum) offers some fifty stations totalling approximately 100 minutes of listening enjoyment.

Quebec and Canadian Art

To better appreciate the works displayed in the Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion of Quebec and Canadian Art, an audioguide is available free of charge. Three levels of information are provided: commentaries on the works, followed by interviews with artists (such as Marcelle Ferron, Riopelle, Borduas and Molinari) and pieces of music from the audio archives of CBC/Radio-Canada, which worked closely with the Museum on creating this audioguide.

These resources are provided to visitors free of charge through the generosity of Hydro-Québec.

FREE ADMISSION FOR CHILDREN aged 12 and under

Children aged 12 and under accompanied by an adult can visit all the MMFA's exhibitions free of charge at all times (does not apply to groups).

EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Admission to the great majority of the Museum's educational and cultural activities (lectures, films, colloquiums and guided tours) is free of charge for everyone at all times.

For programming, log on to the calendar.
