Art and Music from the Renaissance to Baroque
in the Serenissima

From October 12, 2013 to January 19, 2014

Admission Fees

Resplendent Venice was home to two Golden Ages, in art and music. This multidisciplinary exhibition is the first to explore the interaction between the visual arts, music and political culture in Venice: processions, charitable organizations, concert life, operas and festivals, and composers including the Gabrieli, Monteverdi and Vivaldi. With paintings by such artists as Titian, Tintoretto, Bassano, Piazzetta, Ricci, Tiepolo, Guardi, Longhi and Canaletto, the exhibition also includes prints, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, original period instruments and early music texts.

An exhibition initiated and produced by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
