Illustration: A Personal Recreation Process

Welcome to the Museum’s School of Art!

Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20
9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Tap into your sensory perceptions as you delve into a text and discover new approaches to visual representation. Through stimulation exercises involving the gathering of images, materials and colours, you will choose the graphic technique and colour scheme that defines your unique perspective.

Materials for the Series: Sketchbook ; Tracing paper ; Watercolor pad 9 x 12 in. ; Pencils ; Eraser ; Sharpener ; Brushes: a wide and flat, a pointed and small way (for details). ; Pens, pencil, charcoal.
Acrylic or watercolor paint, color inks, Caran d’Aches watercolor crayons (colors of your choice) ; Cutouts of printed photos from magazines (less than 15cm x 25 cm) ; Bits of recycled paper for textures or colors. ; White glue or glue stick.

Instructor: Suzane Langlois, artist, illustrator and art educator

Born in Montreal, Suzane Langlois illustrates books, paints, and leads visual art workshops. Her watercolour illustrations have been published in more than 40 albums and youth novels in Quebec, Canada, Germany, Japan and the U.S., and her work has been exhibited in the Greater Montreal area and the Laurentians.
