Into the Wondrous World of the Far East

A veritable national treasure in China, the Peking Opera harmoniously combines song, dance and dialogue. Even martial arts are included!

The result: an eclectic and enchanting musical creation. Emblematic of Chinese culture, the Peking Opera has been inscribed since 2010 on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

In this unique workshop, there will be a short presentation to introduce you to the history and characteristics of this oriental art form.

Following this, two artists with a combined stage experience of more than thirty years will present two excerpts of performances in very different styles.

Finally, a dynamic and charming facilitator, accompanied by the artists, will walk you through this world of oriental wonders: you will be able to experiment for yourself with the singing and basic movements of the Peking Opera.
