Introduction to Oil Pastel

Welcome to the Museum’s School of Art!

Fridays, February 2, 9, 23 and March 2

1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

You may mistakenly believe that oil pastels are a children’s medium. On the contrary, the jewel-like colours of oil pastels with their hard consistency and soft, creamy application achieve beautiful painterly results, whether you use them by subtly blending and shading or by making gestures of pure colour. Learn the multiple techniques of handling this highly misunderstood medium.
