Welcome to The Museum’s School of Art – Youth Program!
In light of the ongoing pandemic, the Museum's Education and Wellness Division is pleased to offer, for the first time, online art workshops for young people! Our art workshops will be presented on the Zoom platform (link to come). Each session will be recorded and all of the recordings will be accessible to registrants for the entire following week.
Please note that the School of Art – Youth Program workshops are only offered in French. However, all our instructors are bilingual and able to accommodate English-speaking participants. Specialized materials needed for each workshop are provided and will be mailed to you during the week of June 28. Basic materials you should have at home for the courses are listed in the downloadable PDF.
L’art par le geste
Monday to Friday from July 12 to 16, 1:00 to 2:30 am
In this workshop, you’re invited to make art by moving! Your composition will begin with painted or drawn traces left by your movements. Here, your body is directly involved in the creative act. The experimentation stimulates your full range of expression and helps open your mind to the unexpected, which often occurs in creation. You’ll also discover several modern and contemporary artists who use gesture in their practice.

Cancellation policy: Registrations cancelled before June 28 will be refunded in full, subject to a $50 administration and materials fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations made after this date unless they are due to exceptional circumstances. In such cases, only a fee of $15 will be retained for materials shipped, which remain non-refundable.
Workshops that do not have a minimum of five participants by June 28, 2021 will be cancelled. We accept a maximum of eight participants per workshop.
