To celebrate Black History Month, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Cinéma du Musée have invited columnist and social entrepreneur Fabrice Vil to present a selection of Quebec films that reflect his cultural identity.

For Vil, these films represent the cinematic equivalent of many of the themes in his book Bon gason! Konpliman! Egare! - Ti moun icitte en vagabondage chez les élites, to be released in March and in which he draws on his personal experience to address issues of cultural mixing, social justice and the fight against racism.

About the Curator and Presenter
Guided by a commitment to equal opportunity, Fabrice Vil frequently speaks on issues related to this ideal, notably as a columnist for La Presse, a conference speaker, and a facilitator of corporate workshops. He has also lent his voice to two documentaries, Ados et armés and Briser le code, which address gun violence and racism in Quebec, respectively.

Fabrice is a certified integral development coach, a trained lawyer, and a former basketball coach. In 2011, he founded Pour 3 Points, an organization that trains sports coaches to become life coaches for youth in underserved communities.

Fascinated by the question of human consciousness, Fabrice hopes to inspire people to reflect on the invisible forms of violence they may perpetuate and to respond with kindness toward themselves and others.
