Welcome to the Museum’s School of Art!

To safely resume its activities during the pandemic, the Education and Wellness Department has decided to offer an abridged online program of our most popular workshops through the Zoom platform (link coming soon). Each class will be recorded and available throughout the entire week after the class if you happen to miss it.

Tuesday to Friday July 6-9, 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

In this workshop, we will leave two dimensions behind. By incorporating everything from cardboard to wood blocks, we will build our painted surfaces up and out. Looking at artists from Kurt Schwitters to Louise Nevelson, we will venture into sculptural territory together.

Instructor: Melanie Matthews, artist and art educator

Please note that for the classes offered by Melanie Matthews, the material is generously furnished by the artist with the exception of basic materials such as pencils and scissors.

There is a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 8 participants for each series. If the minimum is not reached, the series will be cancelled.

For administrative purposes, we ask that you inform the instructor of a cancellation at least seven (7) days before the first class of the workshop. Cancellation policy: Cancellations made seven (7) business days or more before the first class of your registered workshop will be refunded in full, less a $50 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made less than seven (7) business days before the activity begins, unless the cancellation is made for unavoidable circumstances, in which case fees will be refunded in full.
