How do artists portray weather, atmosphere, mood and feeling in watercolour landscape paintings? By looking at works in our collection by such artists as Cézanne, Toni Onley, Arne Isaacson and Georgia O’Keefe, those participating in this workshop will explore the boundaries between realism and abstraction in landscape. They will also be encouraged to use their own photographs as references. Please note that some experience with watercolour is required.

Instructor: Leona Heillig, artist and art educator

SCHEDULE

Fridays, October 14 to November 11
10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

About The Museum's School of Art
Now that we are well into fall with Thanksgiving celebrations behind us, it’s the perfect time to sign up for one of our workshops and explore your creative abilities. Our senior artist instructors will provide expert guidance on a variety of techniques, which range from the classic, like Japanese calligraphy, to the more unusual, like drawing and sculpting hybrid creatures.
