MMFA x Les Affûtés: Introduction to leatherwork

Are you always losing your cards at the bottom of your bag? You can solve this problem by learning how to work with leather and create your own handcrafted card holder.

This three-hour workshop is a great introduction to this craft. You’ll learn basic techniques to help you create your first leather project: cutting and gluing the material, marking and opening the stitches, hand sewing with a waxed thread, and painting the edges for the finishing touch.

Participants will have the choice of several types and colours of leather. The material used in this workshop comes from the leather scraps of a sofa manufacturing company.
