This series of classes is for all levels: beginners who would like to learn the basics of portrait painting, as well as more experienced portraitists wanting to hone their skills. You will learn about the anatomy of the head and neck, as well as how to prepare the composition of a portrait through a step-by-step approach that involves observing a subject from different angles—full-face, in three-quarter profile or full profile. Painting values, light and shade will also be covered for their contribution to achieving a good sense of volume.

Instructor: Areg Elibekian, artist and art educator

About The Museum's School of Art
After a long and unpredictable winter and spring, take some time for yourself and sign up for one of our classes. The summer program follows an intensive schedule of four consecutive half days or full days (with some exceptions), so that you can take advantage of any time off you may have. Hope to see you here at the Museum!
