This introductory workshop is designed to walk you through a brief history of wet ink drawing and then demonstrate its various techniques, so that you can jump right into hands-on exercises. The main objective of the course is to discover the unique characteristics of ink as a medium, which encompass both challenges and limitations. You will learn to make the so-called accidents that may arrive work with you rather than against you in fashioning rich imagery, since ink is as much a medium for precision as it is for creating mystical and foggy dreamscapes. Focusing on landscape and some figurative subjects, we will explore all of these aspects together in the span of this intensive weekend workshop.

Instructor: Naghmeh Sharifi, artist and art educator

SCHEDULE

Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23
10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
