A wedding surprise à la Jean Paul Gaultier

On September 8, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) surprised everyone during the Angel Circle’s first event of the season, with the presentation of Another Feather in her Bonnet, a new performance by Canadian artist Kent Monkman, initiated by the MMFA, with the special participation of French couturier Jean Paul Gaultier, who was in Montreal for his exhibition LOVE IS LOVE – WEDDING BLISS FOR ALL À  LA JEAN PAUL GAULTIER. This event, which welcomed 400 people—Angel Circle members, partners, great patrons and their guests—was a rare opportunity to bring these two ardent defenders of cultural and sexual diversity together through creativity.

The Angel Circle, presented by National Bank Financial and the Vo-Dignard Provost Group – Wealth Management, would like to thank all members and distinguished guests for their support and presence during this memorable event! The funds raised by the Angle Circle support the Museum’s major exhibitions and the development of its educational and community programs, especially by promoting access for disadvantaged families.

The Museum wishes to thank National Bank Financial and the Vo-Dignard Provost Group – Wealth Management, official presenters of the Angel Circle. A special thanks to our event partners: Roche Bobois, Pommery Brut Royal, Caliterra, Campari, Cinzano, Hendrick’s, Skyy Vodka, ABP–Sofa To Go, Brera, Forand Évènements, Bell Jar Botanicals, Moog Audio and SoftBox Intégration.

The Angel Circle Anniversary Evening

On April 25, the Museum celebrated the first anniversary of its new 175-member Angel Circle with great pomp! During this meaningful event, our 200 guests were able to enjoy the unusual experience of wandering the rooms of the exhibition REVOLUTION: “You say you want a revolution” as it was being set up, and they had the privilege of visiting the art restoration workshops in the company of the Museum’s conservators, who demystified their meticulous and exciting work.

All guests were able to give free rein to their creativity and make their own cocktails provided by Romeo’s Gin and PUR Vodka, mixing them to their fancy. Glass in hand, everyone was also able to participate in our floral workshop in which we reproduced a work from the Decorative Arts collection using flower petals.

The Angel Circle, presented by National Bank Financial Group Vo-Dignard Provost – Wealth Management, would like to thank all its members and distinguished guests for a first year that ended in style! The Circle will meet again in September for more grand events revealing all the Museum’s secrets.
