With great joy and pride, the Arte Musica Foundation, in residence at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, presents its 8th season at Bourgie Hall.
As we move forward in our 8th season, we grow in our conviction that anyone who wishes to experience live music will find it in unparalleled wealth and variety at Bourgie Hall. From mid-September 2018 to the beginning of June 2019, no less than 105 concerts unfold in one of the country’s most beautiful halls!
One of this season’s guiding themes is French music. Our Couperin Days and performances by Jordi Savall of music from the film Tous les matins du monde offer Baroque repertoire; Romantic works are the substance of a festival of French music from the 19th century (a first edition), and of two concerts of music by Fauré with the peerless pianist Louis Lortie; Impressionist and modern works complete the vast panorama of French musical styles. In short, a wealth of elegant and sophisticated works is sure to delight every music lover.
Following tradition, a portion of our programming is linked to exhibitions on display at the Museum. Thus, six concerts will be presented in connection with Alexander Calder: Radical Inventor and two concerts of medieval music will accompany Resplendent Illuminations: Books of Hours from the 13th-16th Centuries in Quebec Collection.
We continue to pursue our acclaimed signature series, “Les Violons du Roy”, the “Complete Cantatas of J. S. Bach”, “Musicians of the OSM”, “Nothing but Piano” featuring several internationally renowned pianists, and “Jazz 5 à 7”. New events this season feature two commented
concerts that engage with the diversity of world music traditions, and concerts in situ in the Museum’s own rooms.
Finally, we do the utmost to maintain affordable prices that will enable you to enjoy the concert experience at Bourgie Hall as often as you wish. We truly expect that with our range of discounts for bundle purchases, VIP discounts for those with annual memberships to the Museum, or reduced rates for audience members aged
34 years and under, everyone will find the formula that works for them.
Come live music to the fullest at Bourgie Hall!
