Yousuf Karsh (1908–2002) is considered one of the greatest portrait photographers of the twentieth century. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the artist’s wife, Estrellita Karsh, the MMFA is the grateful recipient of 111 photographs created by the artist.
These silver gelatin prints, mostly in large formats and many quite rare, were printed by the artist himself. They form the heart of an exhibition that is on view until January 30, 2022. We invite you to take a virtual guided tour of the show, led by Hilliard T. Goldfarb, Senior Curator – Collections, and Curator of Old Masters, MMFA.
