Guided tour of the exhibition
This major exhibition sheds light on the exceptional role of women in the history of American and Canadian design since the late 19th century. The design objects on display, all of which were created by women, comprise a widely varied body of expertise in ceramics, jewellery, tableware, textiles, fashion, glass, industrial design and more. Our volunteer guides will take you into the fascinating world of design and introduce you to many amazing creations that pay tribute to all such artists who made a contribution to the evolution of the history of art.

To delve further into this topic
Learn about the work Table, from a series entitled Sketch, created by the Front collective, which is made up of four Swedish women designers. Their inventive experiments led them to work with a motion-capture system, which sent sketches made in the air with light pens to a 3-D printer that then made the object.

Entrance
The group entrance is located at 2075 Bishop Street.
School bus
If you are coming by school bus, allow extra time for potential traffic congestion.
Métro station
The Museum is a 5-minute walk from the Guy-Concordia Métro station (Guy exit).
Allow sufficient time
Allow approximately 30 minutes for students to be greeted at the entrance, to go to the cloakroom and washroom, and to be divided into groups.
Subgroups
To facilitate movement through the galleries and ensure that everyone gets a good view of the works, each class will be divided into two subgroups composed of a maximum of 15 students (11 for preschool groups). The class will regroup afterward in the workshop, if applicable.
