This retrospective exhibition pays homage to the great Montreal artist Jean McEwen (1923-1999) to mark the 20th anniversary of his death. It will present a rich selection of acquisitions made over the last two decades in a recently renovated gallery. The large number and importance of these works donated by the artist’s family and collectors attest to the special connection between McEwen and Montrealers, and to the considerable role the MMFA played in his career. Many of the paintings displayed further highlight the international scope of McEwen’s exhibition history, extending as far as Brazil, Japan and England.
An exhibition organized by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
