The MMFA’s exhibition Rodin to be presented in Salem, Massachusetts

The exhibition METAMORPHOSES: IN RODIN’S STUDIO, which has already been seen by over 202,000 visitors at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) and over 87,000 at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, will be presented at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, from May 14 to September 5, 2016, as Rodin: Transforming Sculpture.

Organized by the MMFA in collaboration with the Musée Rodin de Paris, this exhibition includes outstanding loans by the Musée Rodin, including the iconic plasters The Thinker and The Kiss, which are on tour for the first time in North America. The Salem show features 175 sculptures by Auguste Rodin – bronzes, marbles and plasters – that reveal the master’s creative process.

The exhibition will then travel to Groningen in the Netherlands, where it will be presented at the Groninger Museum from November 19, 2016, to April 30, 2017, as Rodin – Genius at Work.
