Devoted and enthusiastic art and museum lovers, members of the President’s Circle continue the tradition of the first Montreal Museum of Fine Arts founders, who in 1860, believed in the importance of establishing a museum of international calibre in our city.

A look at Once Upon a Time… The Western, a captivating President’s Circle tribute evening in honour of Marcel Elefant

On October 17, the Museum invited members of the Presidents Circle to discover the brand new exhibition Once Upon a Time… The Western: A New Frontier in Art and Film in a friendly and relaxed setting. This Western-inspired musical event was also an opportunity to acknowledge the important contribution of collector and donor Marcel Elefant in the presence of Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Chairman, Jacques Parisien, and Director General and Chief Curator, Nathalie Bondil.
Over 250 President’s Circle members and their guests enjoyed privileged access to the
exhibition Once Upon a Time… The Western and took advantage of the presence of
Exhibition Curator and MMFA Curator of International Modern Art, Mary-Dailey
Desmarais.
This President Circle event, presented by The Guarantee, launched the Museum
2017-2018 season, which promises to be full of surprises and innovation. The MMFA
would like to thank all members and distinguished guests for their unwavering support!
The Circle will meet again on February 5 as part of the inauguration of the exhibition
Napoleon: Art and Court Life in the Imperial Palace.

SPOTLIGHT ON REVOLUTION, A MOVING PRESIDENT’S CIRCLE TRIBUTE EVENING TO BERNARD LAMARRE

Last June 19, the Museum invited the President’s Circle members to be the first to discover, in an intimate setting, the awe-inspiring exhibition REVOLUTION: “You Say You Want a Revolution.” This warm reception was also the occasion to honour the late Bernard Lamarre, great builder of modern Quebec, collector and donor, who chaired the Museum’s Board of Trustees for nearly twenty-five years. Jacques Parisien, Chairman of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and Nathalie Bondil, Director and Chief Curator, attended the event.

Our 250 members, friends and donors enjoyed private access to the exhibition REVOLUTION: “You Say You Want a Revolution” and delighted in the presence of Diane Charbonneau, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Decorative Arts and Photography at the MMFA.
This President’s Circle evening, presented by The Guarantee, closed an exceptional season for the Museum. The MMFA would like to thank all members and distinguished guests for their unwavering support! The Circle will meet once again on October 16 during the inauguration of the exhibition Once Upon a Time…the Western: A new frontier in Art and Film.
