Learn how to create archetypal figures from observational drawings.

First off, you’ll make a preliminary study of sculptures from the Museum collection. In these sketches, you’ll concentrate on the rendering of shape, shadow and light.

You’ll then undertake a personal project: the creation of an archetypal divinity that synthesizes antiquity’s formal conventions with resolutely contemporary symbolism.

Instructor: Suzane Langlois, artist and art educator
