About Quartiers Danses
Festival Quartiers Danses has made it its mission to democratize contemporary dance in all its forms and hybrids by making it more accessible to all audiences in both traditional and unconventional venues.
About Insectoïdes
Evoking both the scurrying speed and sensing antennas of insects, Insectoïdes is a quirky, organic symphony of the fluid yet disjointed movements of these creepy-crawly creatures.
About Qualité de Luxe
Launched in 2014, dance party Qualité de Luxe has been held more than 140 times. Poirier and Kyou, both passionate and experienced DJs with a finger on the pulse of new music, joined forces to track down the best in soca, kompa, dancehall, afrohouse and much more. Their sets effortlessly jump from the Caribbean to Africa, making the connection between new releases and discoveries.
About the Ensemble vocal Extravaganza
Founded by members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Extravaganza, a vocal ensemble featuring four voices (soprano, alto, tenor and bass), is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Under artistic director Luce Bélanger, the ensemble’s vocalists offer a vibrant repertoire blending Francophone and international pop and variety music. With its contagious energy and strong stage presence, Extravaganza celebrates diversity through voice and a generous dose of heart and soul.
About Gayance
Aïsha Vertus goes by the stage name Gayance, which means joy in Haitian Creole—fitting for someone who delights audiences by making “jazzy-house with Brazilian spices.” Now based in Lisbon, the Montréal-born Haitian-Canadian artist’s first LP, Mascarade, was shortlisted for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize.
