May 14 – June 4, 2026

This class is designed for those who wish to be inducted into the magic of watercolour. No prior experience is necessary.

Throughout these practical workshops, you’ll learn the basic essentials: the composition of materials, the management of water, the blending of colours and the various wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques. You’ll also explore how to create fluid gradients and make washes, and learn about the importance of blank space.

The goal is to introduce you to the necessary techniques to enable you to express yourself freely. Through simple and inspiring exercises (landscapes, still lifes and abstractions), you’ll become more comfortable and develop your own personal style.

When the class ends, you’ll have your very first works, plus the necessary confidence to continue to cultivate your talent as a watercolourist!

Instructor: Leona Heillig, artist and art educator
