THE EXHIBITION EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT
Since its opening, Kent Monkman: History Is Painted by the Victors, the largest-ever exhibition dedicated to the Cree artist, has already drawn thousands of visitors. And interest is only growing.
An internationally renowned artist and member of ocêkwi sîpiy (Fisher River Cree Nation), Kent Monkman revisits classic references from art history to offer contempotary perspectives on the world around us that are as sensitive as they are socially conscious.

Bringing together some 40 monumental paintings, the exhibition explores a variety of themes: contemporary Indigenous experience, colonization, the climate crisis and 2SLGBTQIA+ identities… questions that resonate as much today as in the past.
Haven’t had a chance to visit the exhibition yet? The critics are unanimous: this is one you don’t want to miss.
Note to parents and guardians:
This exhibition contains depictions of violence and nudity. Parents and guardians may want to preview the works.
