On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition Richard Avedon: Immortal. Portraits of aging, 1951-2004, come watch—or rewatch—the musical romantic comedy Funny Face inspired by the life of Avedon, the legendary Harper’s Bazaar photographer.

Funny Face

Dick, an official photographer for the American fashion magazine Quality, is tasked by his editor with seeking out a young model to be the next “Quality woman” and to present a fashion collection in Paris. Dick makes the acquaintance of Jo, a young bluestocking, at a bookshop in Greenwich Village, and is convinced she will be the ideal photogenic face for the campaign, but he hasn’t counted on falling in love.
