Day camp

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Day Camp Is Back!

Your child has a boundless imagination, and likes to paint, draw or craft? The Museum is just the place for them!

Parents Guide Code of Conduct MuseuManners

At our day camp, your children will get the chance to explore the Museum through fun and exciting tours aimed at stimulating their imagination and creativity. They will also immerse themselves in projects based on what inspires them.

This unique day camp exposes children to a range of eras and styles as they discover the many artists and works featured in the MMFA’s exhibitions. Back in the studio, they are encouraged to express themselves on different themes and to use a variety of creative techniques and methods. They carry out their two- and three-dimensional projects in a relaxed atmosphere using all sorts of materials. At the end of the week, the children present their artwork to friends and family in an exhibition that they mount themselves. It’s an experience that forges friendships and lifelong memories!

Practical information

  • The Museum Day Camp is designed as a week-long program, meaning the same activities are repeated from one week to the next, with different groups of children.
  • Children must have completed kindergarten, as the schedule and projects are not geared towards preschool-aged children.
  • The art supplies and camp T-shirt are included.
  • A free daycare service is offered 8 to 9 a.m. from Monday to Friday, and 4 to 5:30 p.m., from Monday to Thursday.
  • A period of outdoor activities is planned each day (weather permitting).
  • Children must bring their own cold lunches and snacks (no food requiring reheating).
  • The day camp is bilingual: children can communicate in English or French as they please.
  • The children benefit from the camp’s structured environment that is safe, warm and welcoming.

The Merlin Fund and Lethbridge Fund were established to give children from low-income families an opportunity to develop their artistic talents. The financial support received from these funds enables children aged 6 to 14 who are referred by our partner community organizations to attend the Museum Day Camp for free.

The Montreal Montreal of Fine Arts thanks the Fondation de la Chenelière for its financial support of the Museum’s educational and cultural activities.
