For this Members’ Friday, come discover the exhibition Marisol: A Retrospective.

 

PROGRAM

  • Come groove to 1960s vibes with The Men In Gray Suits, a high-energy Montreal surf rock bandThree 20-minute sets, at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

  • Take advantage of the Gallery Guides on hand to gain a deeper appreciation of Marisol, one of the most prominent yet least well-known artists of her generation whose innovative work had a great influence on Pop art.

  • Take this opportunity to discover the exhibitions The Pop of Life! and Françoise Sullivan "I let rhythms flow" open for the occasion.

About Marisol: A Retrospective
An exhibition organized by the Buffalo AKG Art Museum and supported by a major grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. Critical work related to this exhibition and collection was made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The exhibition is curated by Cathleen Chaffee, Charles Balbach Chief Curator of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. The Montreal presentation is curated by Mary-Dailey Desmarais, Chief Curator of the MMFA, in collaboration with Alexandrine Théorêt, Assistant Curator of International Modern and Contemporary Art, MMFA.
