In conjunction with the exhibition Tokaido : Dreamscapes by Andō Hiroshige, the Cinéma du Musée will host the very first edition of the Montreal Japan Film Festival.
Featuring a selection of films that, for the most part, have never been shown in Quebec, the Festival will offer a gateway into the fascinating world of Japanese cinema.
PROGRAM
You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the Japanese brand of humour with the comedy Mondays, the heartwarming documentary about Okinawan food culture Happy Sandwich, or the romantic comedy BL Metamorphosis, starring Nobuko Miyamoto, of Tampopo fame.
In a special collaboration to mark the opening of the Festival on May 9, the Consulate General of Japan in Montreal and the Japan Foundation, Toronto will present a free screening of the Makoto Shinkai animated film Weathering with You at 7:30 p.m. at the Cinéma du Musée.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Language: Films will be shown in their original versions, with subtitles in English and/or French. To learn more, take a look at the official selection.
