Between form and function
10 minutes
Lead a group discussion on design by asking students to select an object in the classroom. Next, talk about the attributes needed to make the object useful. For example, a pencil should be neither too heavy nor too large so that it can be easily gripped. Continue by discussing the object’s appearance. Is it possible to modify its appearance to make it more attractive without compromising its main function?
