Sharing the Museum Concert

Zal Sissokho, kora, and Laurent Perrault-Jolicoeur, double bass – Roots

Roots is a dialogue between jazz and Mandinka music – the place where the Western double bass with its four strings meets the African kora with its twenty-one strings. Laurent Perrault-Jolicoeur and Zal Sissokho work to forge new ties between their musical traditions, offering captivating rhythms, harmonies, and improvisation in each of their compositions.

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Bourgie Hall are delighted to invite you to this free relaxed concert, organized exclusively for participating organizations in the Sharing the Museum accessibility program. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the outstanding acoustics and architecture of the MMFA’s Bourgie Hall.
