A visit to the Museum is not about…

Being tested on what you know;
Having to sit quietly through a boring activity;
Listening to a presentation given by an expert.

In designing all of its school program activities, the Museum uses a participatory approach that meets the specific needs of each group. Students are guided through their discovery of artworks by means of observation questions, games and mediation activities that are adapted to their level of understanding.

Most activities include a creative component that bridges theory and practice and offers a positive experience with art.

The MMFA’s educational activities are framed within a cultural teaching approach. In addition to fostering the students’ cross-curricular competency development, they enable children to draw links between the various subjects and put what they’ve learned in context.

In-person

The class goes to the Museum.

Online

The class meets with a mediator virtually.

In-class

A mediator comes to your classroom to carry out an activity (certain conditions apply).

Preschool

An entertaining, interactive stroll to initiate young children to the museum environment.

An activity that delves into sculpture techniques and the expressiveness of movement.

Secondary

An activity to spark a conversation about the vibrant intermingling of cultures and imaginary worlds and how they are constantly enriching and transforming each other.
