THE TORLONIA COLLECTION
MASTERPIECES OF ROMAN SCULPTURE

This is the final stop before this iconic collection heads back to Italy! These extraordinarily life-like works are from the world’s largest private collection of ancient Roman sculptures, amassed during the 19th century by Alessandro Torlonia (1800-1884).

The MMFA’s transformation continues with the fresh redesign of the Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion’s fourth floor. This space will welcome temporary exhibitions dedicated to re-examining the history of Quebec and Canadian art through works from the Museum’s collection.
