Until April 4, 2027, nighttime passersby on Sherbrooke Street can stop and admire the projection Precarious Balance Theory by Montreal artist Lydia Yakonowsky, created as part of the MMFA’s Digital Canvas project, in collaboration with MUTEK.

As dusk sets in, the work draws visitors into a shifting landscape composed of curves, dots, marks and symbols that invite reflection on our innate desire to create order from uncertainty, which itself is ever-changing.

Projected nightly until 11 p.m. onto the facade of the Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion, this is the sixth artwork created for the Digital Canvas.
