The MMFA Foundation’s 2026-2027 Annual Fundraising Campaign

The MMFA is not a government-run museum; it must self-finance a significant portion of its annual operating needs. As a non-profit organization, the MMFA relies on the support of its community to fund its activities, from artwork conservation to education and community initiatives. One out of every four dollars spent on the Museum’s operations comes from donations.

All donations received by the Foundation go directly towards the Museum’s activities. Your donation could contribute to restoring a painting, presenting awe-striking exhibitions, or offering creative workshops for community organization participants.

Far from being intangible, art has clearly demonstrable positive effects: In 2019, the World Health Organization published a report highlighting the benefits of art for health, well-being, learning, and social cohesion.

All donations of more than $20 are eligible for a tax receipt. Depending on your financial situation, you could recover as much as 50% of your contribution. In addition, the Quebec Government offers an additional 25% tax credit for your first large cultural donation.

• Donations of $150 or more: Your name will appear on the Museum’s website.
• Donations of $200 or more: Your name will appear on a recognition panel on the grounds of the art installation featured on Du Musée Avenue in summer 2027.
• Donations of $500 or more: You can add a personalized message to the mention of your name.
• Donations of $1,000 or more: Your name will be featured on a recognition wall inside the Museum.

By supporting the Together for the MMFA initiative with an annual donation of $3,000, $5,000 or $10,000 over five years, you’ll be eligible to have your name or that of your family or a loved one displayed on the walls of the Museum, among the masterpieces of its collection.
