2025 Museum Ball

Patrons and leading figures from Montreal’s business, culture, and political communities gathered under the theme of freedom—the freedom to be oneself, to love, to create, to innovate—at the country’s oldest art museum to celebrate the 65th edition of the Museum Ball.
The benefit gala, which is crucial to ensuring the future of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA), raised $2 million in support of the institution.
The next edition of the Museum Ball will take place November 7, 2026.
Presented by IG Private Wealth Management, this year’s spectacular edition was a celebration of Quebec and Canadian art, and paid special tribute to the season’s signature exhibition, Kent Monkman: History Is Painted by the Victors.
The gala was co-chaired by Erik Ryan, Special Advisor on Stakeholder Engagement at AtkinsRéalis; Jérôme Pécresse, Chief Executive, Aluminium & Lithium at Rio Tinto; Tracy Robinson, President and CEO of CN; and Alexandre L’Heureux, President and CEO, WSP Global.

Guest Chef
Chef Timothy Charles curated the fundraising event’s menu. Chef Charles is the Executive Chef at Fogo Island Inn, which was recently awarded three MICHELIN Keys.
It’s an incredible honour to be invited as guest chef for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts fundraiser ball. The menu we are contributing is a brilliant opportunity to share the unique culinary story of Fogo Island—one firmly set in tradition, community, and the icy water of the Labrador current. I’m thrilled to bring a taste of our island to this inspiring celebration of culture and creativity.

Scenography Artist Partner
Renée Condo contributed to the 65th edition of the Museum Ball as Scenography Artist Partner. As such, she was responsible for the artistic direction of one of the grand banquet halls. Renée is a visual artist of Mi’gmaw First Nation ancestry from the community of Gesgapegiag.
It is a tremendous honour to be invited by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts as a guest artist for the 2025 Ball, and especially to share this space with the incomparable Kent Monkman. My work explores a Mi’gmaq worldview through vibrant, immersive forms, and I am thrilled to create a scenography that evokes the power and wonder of the Sky Lodge (Niskamij – Grandfather Sun) – a space of cosmic energy, cycles, creation, transformation, and vitality, a generative presence that echoes the event’s themes of liberty, territory, nature, love, and the boundless energy to innovate. I look forward to bringing this vision to life for such a special event.
