The 2024 Museum Ball
The 64th edition of the Museum Ball will be held on October 26, 2024, taking as its theme the major exhibition Saints, Sinners, Lovers and Fools: Three Hundred Years of Flemish Masterworks.
Co-chaired by Abe Adham, Chair, Quebec Market at TD Bank Financial Group, and Deborah K. Orida, President and CEO of PSP Investments, the fundraising gala will include a gastronomic banquet and extravagant festivities inside the Museum’s galleries.
Every year, close to 1,000 guests from the arts and business communities come together at the MMFA to celebrate art in all its splendour. This flagship charity event is instrumental in raising the funds necessary to secure the Museum’s future and support its main priorities: presenting world-class programming, promoting its outstanding collection, and operating and further developing its education and community engagement programs, and accessibility initiatives.
The theme
This will be your chance to embody the luxuriant and sensuous spirit of Saints, Sinners, Lovers and Fools. For the night of the Ball, the Museum’s enchanting atmosphere will be transformed into a Baroque-reinvented setting. Give in to temptation in this invigorating ambience, and uncover the allusions to the seven deadly sins that have been subtly concealed in the decor. You will be served a gourmet dinner, which will be followed by an evening of dancing.
Evening Schedule
6 p.m. - Cocktail and exhibition visit
7:30 p.m. - Banquet
10:30 p.m. - Dance and celebrations
Dress code
As always, refinement and elegance are the order of the day. Look to some of the exhibition’s masterworks – abounding in draping fabrics and muted tones – for ideas. It’s the occasion you’ve been waiting for to don your fanciest attire and express your creativity. How will this era of excess and exuberance inspire you?
Valet Parking
Valet parking will be available, but taking a taxi or a limousine is strongly recommended.
Guest Chef
Chef and author Laurent Dagenais will propose a terroir-inspired menu conceived specially for this year’s Ball. Chef Laurent is known for his relaxed and inventive style and his passion for local seasonal foods, which he shares with millions across his social media. This gastronomic dinner will be a feast for the eyes and thrill the taste buds!
Why support the MMFA
Because the Museum is a non-profit organization, it greatly depends on the support it receives from its community. It is one of the city’s major attractions and literally transforms lives through its awe-inspiring and thought-provoking exhibitions, its art therapy and community engagement initiatives, and its world-renowned collection.
Together, let us strive to make the power of art accessible to everyone.
The Museum Ball is one of the most important fundraising events of the year, in terms of both its scale and its impact. It’s an opportunity for the philanthropic community to come together in a magnificent setting to support a cultural institution that plays a key role in the lives of Montrealers of all ages and backgrounds.
