Paul McClure’s experimental jewellery explores the intersection of biology and identity through abstract, metaphorical interpretations of the human body. His pieces often incorporate non-precious materials typically not associated with beauty and adornment. They prompt reflection on the relationship between biological form and cultural ornamentation, and demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship. Based in Toronto, McClure’s contributions to the visual arts were recognized with the prestigious Saidye Bronfman Award and Governor General’s Award in 2015.
