Welcome to The Museum’s School of Art – Youth Program!
In light of the ongoing pandemic, the Museum's Education and Wellness Division is pleased to offer, for the first time, online art workshops for young people! Our art workshops will be presented on the Zoom platform (link to come). Each session will be recorded and all of the recordings will be accessible to registrants for the entire following week.
Please note that the School of Art – Youth Program workshops are only offered in French. However, all our instructors are bilingual and able to accommodate English-speaking participants. Specialized materials needed for each workshop are provided and will be mailed to you during the week of June 21. Basic materials you should have at home for the courses are listed in the downloadable PDF.
Art furtif / Installation miniature
Tuesdays, July 6, 13, 20 and 27, 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Do you miss public gatherings? We invite you to create by taking the idea of the crowd or the group as your guide. This class offers welcome inspiration after the year we’ve been through. You’ll discover various assembly, modelling and scaling techniques to create a miniature sculpture/installation. The setting and characters will be carefully and meticulously integrated with an outdoor public space. The theme can be approached from any angle: with humour, commitment or simply an expression of the emotions it evokes in you. You’ll take photos of your installation and then observe the changes brought about by time, weather and human presence.

Cancellation policy: Registrations cancelled before June 18 will be refunded in full, subject to a $50 administration and materials fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations made after this date unless they are due to exceptional circumstances. In such cases, only a fee of $15 will be retained for materials shipped, which remain non-refundable.
Workshops that do not have a minimum of five participants by June 18, 2021 will be cancelled. We accept a maximum of eight participants per workshop.
