Clavecin en concert: Tears of sadness, tears of joy

Guest presenters

Following the release of his CD Scorrete lagrime mie on Passacaille in 2024, trombonist Maximilien Brisson takes us on a journey to early Baroque Italy, with a programme of great expressive richness. Alongside soprano Myriam Leblanc, harpsichordist Christophe Gauthier, organist Luc Beauséjour and lutenist Sylvain Bergeron, he brings to life rare and striking pages by Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, Sigismondo d'India, Giovanni Battista Bovicelli, Lodovico Viadana, Giovanni Bassano and Bartolomeo Barbarino. An ideal repertoire to highlight the vocal virtuosity of the trombone, an instrument that, historically, has probably been associated more than any other with the human voice.
