From Warsaw to Bucharest: A Musical Escapade

Musicians of the OSM 2026-2027

At 19, both Shostakovich and Enescu poured their youthful energy into string octets: Shostakovich paid tribute to Bach with a touch of his future symphonic irony, and Enescu displayed an already striking thematic creativity. This program pairs these pieces with Bacewicz’s violin quartet, written for young musicians at the Łódź Conservatory.
Co-produced with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal
