Yoan and Gabrielle grew up in Témiscamingue and have just turned 18. They have their whole lives ahead of them, and the time has come to ponder their options. While Yoan is eager to leave the region and meet new people, start a new life and explore his homosexuality, Gabrielle is afraid of the moment when she will have to leave her family and boyfriend to study far away. In this first feature film, Sarah Baril Gaudet takes a gently empathetic look at a critical and delicate time of life, when the future starts to come into focus and adolescents blossom into adults, with a mix of enthusiasm and dread. The result is a double portrait full of poetry and tenderness, celebrating youth and friendship over a summer when anything seems possible. (RIDM)
