Michel de la Chenelière Is Awarded the Ordre national du Québec

Michel de la Chenelière, the Museum’s major patron for education and the founder of the Chenelière Éducation publishing house and the Fondation de la Chenelière, was awarded the Ordre national du Québec at the National Assembly on Thursday, June 22, 2017.

In 2011 and 2015, Mr. de la Chenelière made two major donations to the Museum totalling $5 million. Thanks to his generosity, the Museum was able to renovate its educational facilities in 2012 and devote two storeys of the new Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace to education and art therapy in 2016. The Michel de la Chenelière International Atelier for Education and Art Therapy enable the Museum to better meet the growing needs of families, school and community groups, as well as visitors with special needs.

Congratulations, Michel, and thank you for your involvement in Museum life!
