A dance floor on Avenue du Musée!

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts chose architect’s Jean Verville work, Plancher de danse – Dance Floor, to enliven Avenue du Musée from May-October 2016. The pedestrian walkway is pattered with thousands of golden footsteps—an homage to the mosaics in the exhibition Pompeii—creating a golden path that reflects the progress of human life. This giant dance floor is a festive installation, but it also reminds us that an urban space is a human space.

The Museum has organized numerous outdoor events during the month of August. Like our Facebook page for updates—you won’t want to miss these exclusive activities!

Upcoming events:

August 10, 5-9 p.m. - Salsa Folie

August 13, 12-2 p.m. - Bal Musette
