Nuit blanche at the MMFA

Enjoy reduced admission ($10) to the major exhibition Chagall: Colour and Music to the accompaniment of Eastern European folk music and take advantage of free admission to the new Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace. You can also take part in a host of free activities, including vodka, pretzel and tea tastings, “stained glass,” mosaic and origami workshops, henna tattoos and musical performances! Have a nice Nuit blanche at the Museum.

CHAGALL: COLOUR AND MUSIC – 5 p.m. to midnight
Take advantage of reduced admission ($10) to discover Chagall’s surrealist world inspired by Jewish tradition and Russian folklore, to the accompaniment of klezmer music. This major multidisciplinary exhibition, which highlights the artist’s deep connection with music, features some 340 works – paintings, sculptures, gouaches, stained glass windows, photographs, films, costumes and puppets – many of which are being exhibited for the first time.

MICHAL AND RENATA HORNSTEIN PAVILION FOR PEACE
– 5 to 9 p.m.
Enjoy free admission to the new Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace, which features 750 works, from Old Masters to contemporary art in a panorama of art through the ages, from the Middles Ages to the year 2000.
Express Guided Tours
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Take a guided tour through the new pavilion with Concordia Students. These "express" tours of 15 minutes will feature one artwork in particuliar. On-going departures.

“STAINED GLASS” WORKSHOP – 8 p.m. to midnight
Draw inspiration from Chagall’s world for the “stained glass” workshop (ink and drawing on acetate) and then take your masterpiece home with you!

MOSAIC WORKSHOP – 8 p.m. to midnight
In the company of the Mosaikashop team, take part in the creation of a collective mosaic in connection with Expo 67, the theme of the Nuit blanche’s 14th edition.

VODKA AND PRETZEL TASTING – 10 p.m. to midnight (or while supplies last)
Enjoy free samples of vodka-based cocktails. On the menu: Black Russians, White Russians and pretzels to warm you up on a cold winter’s night!

MUSICAL PERFORMANCES – 9 to 9.45 p.m. / 10.15 to 11 p.m.
Enjoy the lively tunes of Orkestra Severni, a klezmer band that will conjure up images from Chagall’s paintings!

HENNA TATTOOS – 6 to 9 p.m.
Have a peace symbol tattooed on your hand in henna by the artists from Zen Henna Montreal.

ORIGAMI PEACE WORKSHOP – 5 to 9 p.m.
Make an origami bird, give it a message of peace and then place it on our collective mural!

TEA TASTING – 5 to 9 p.m. (or while supplies last)
Find inner peace by enjoying some comforting Serenity Now tea, compliments of DAVIDsTEA.
