Constantinople - Songs of Hope

Guest presenters

This concert is a cry of hope and freedom inspired by one of the world’s most fascinating civilizations, Iran. While the refined gardens of Shiraz and mosaics of Isfahan have contributed to its storied reputation, this culture dating back several millennia is also famed for its remarkable musical and poetic production, which has always transcended the vicissitudes of history. A hymn to the richness and beauty of this culture, Songs of Hope features virtuoso musicians, bearers of its traditions. The sublime master of the kamancheh Kayhan Kalhor dialogues with Kiya Tabassian on the setar and vocalist Hadi Hosseini, singing in Persian.
