Giuseppe Guarrera, piano

Outstanding Pianists

Italian pianist Giuseppe Guarrera—who won five special awards and Second Prize at the 2017 Concours musical international de Montréal—alternates between Bach’s and Shostakovich’s Preludes and Fugues, composed 200 years apart. The second half offers a rare opportunity to hear Liszt’s set of two Faustian piano pieces in addition to Beethoven’s great “Les adieux” sonata.
