Welcome to the Museum’s School of Art!

To safely resume its activities during the pandemic, the Education and Wellness Department has decided to offer an abridged online program of our most popular workshops through the Zoom platform (link coming soon). Each class will be recorded and available throughout the entire week after the class if you happen to miss it.

In this class, we will learn how to beautifully thicken paint with acrylic pastes. The goal of embracing this practice is to broaden our range of acrylic techniques to create lush dimensional and vibrant art works, from still lifes to abstraction and landscape, and bring the sensual surface to life. Canvas, paint and pastes are generously provided by the artist.

Please note that this class is a total of 6 hours and not 12 like the other weekend classes

Instructor: Melanie Matthews, artist and art educator

There is a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 8 participants for each series. If the minimum is not reached, the series will be cancelled.

Information: education@mbamtl.org

Cancellation policy: Cancellations made seven (7) business days or more before the first class of your registered workshop will be refunded in full, less a $50 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made less than seven(7) business days before the activity begins, unless the cancellation is made for unavoidable circumstances, in which case fees will be refunded in full.
