Les Idées heureuses - Pâté en croûte et vieux ragots

Guest presenters

This theatrical, extravagant concert revolves around the composer Michel Richard de Lalande (1657-1726). At the beginning of the show, the composer (played by Hervé Niquet) and his cook (played by Jean-Philippe Desrousseaux) are seated at the table, surrounded by the 17 musicians of La Chambre.

The suites of gigues, canaries and gavottes won't keep them from eating or reading the Gazette and Mercure Galant, which contain reports on the latest performances, the antics of the singers and other follies of unruly spectators. They are not ashamed to spread provincial gossip in letters received from Francoise de Sevigné, Bussy Rabutin and Mme de Graffigny! A gastronomic- musical evening of truculence, music and humor.
